Playable Demo Available!
I've been working on and off for a few weeks on this 3D Lunar Lander game. It's supposed to be a 3D version of the original 1979 Lunar Lander arcade game. That arcade game was quite simple so I wrote this to use a low-polygon style with limited controls and features. Although the lander has been land-able for a few weeks, I only now was able to have enough levels, and the installer code, to make this a proper demo.
I've written a few blog posts about this project: https://blog.rectorsquid.com
The most recent interesting features, in regards to programming, were the raw input that let's the game track two fingers on the trackpad separate from how the trackpad might move the mouse, and the terrain shader that gives the built-in terrain in Unity a low-poly look. The shader was tricky to write so I shared some code for that on my site.
I hope to have at least a few updates in the near future. The game definitely needs a way to quit (besides Alt-F4) and a menu that let's players turn on and off the sound, would be a nice touch.
